From the books of Peter Tinniswood comes one of television's great comedy families, The Bradons. There's miserable pessimist Uncle Mort, his sharp-tongued sister Annie who is constantly arguing with Husband Les, their laid-back son Carter and his not so laid-back wife Pat, and finally old Uncle Stravely who carries his friend's ashes around his neck in a box and only enters the constant bickering with a cry of 'I'eard that! Pardon?' Pat has arranged a 'young executive' style dinner party for the family but the men are not impressed. "You're not using that tureen for soup" asks Mort, "what have you done with bloody goldfish?" But when Pat requests sparkling conversation he's ready to oblige with the announcement that he's in love. The following day he takes them to see the ghastly and horrendous sight" of the object of his affections, Olive Scrimshaw.
