The potential discovery of a vast oil field under an Arab nation threatens to ignite a civil war. The King requests a brigade of crack British Guards. Instead, with typical army efficiency, what he receives is seven men from the No3 Surprise Ordnance Depot, Nether Hopping! Now Bootsy (Alfie Bass), Popeye (Bernard Bresslaw), The Professor (Charles Hawtrey), Cupcake (Norman Rossington), Springer (Michael Medwin), Sgt 'Potty' Chambers (David Lodge) and The Major (Geoffrey Sumner) find themselves acting as the 'thin red line' against two thousand hostile desert tribesmen! After going awol only to discover the world's dullest nightclub (no women allowed) and tunnelling into the King's personal Harem, they accidentally trigger the civil war. Now, everything depends on Popeye convincing everyone that he's really a luscious dusky Arab harem girl. Are the boys in trouble or what? Based on the hugely popular BBC TV sitcom of the 1950s, 'The Army Game', this big screen spin-off features many of the most popular characters from the series and captures all the magic that made the original series such a hit. - Actors:
