Recently I decided to fill some gaps in my horror knowledge and watch Last House on the Left and now this. This film is basically a direct copy of LHOTL but with somehow even more amateurish filmmaking. There's nothing interesting about it, it's a simplistic rape revenge horror that is best left in the midnight porno cinemas it came from.
I read somewhere recently that this film from the 1970s continues to be banned in some countries. This was my primary reason for checking it out. Granted, in the 1970s it probably was quite shocking; yet the violence is implied rather than graphic. Countless films since are much more graphic, for instance the Brave One, the Last House on the Left (2009), The Accused or Hard Candy.
The victim's speedy recovery from a brutal gang rape seems improbable and, given her physical build, her ability to seduce and exact revenge on each rapist also is questionable. Yet as the film progresses it can be difficult not to admire Jenny's steely determination to right the wrong done to her by a gang portrayed as 'backwater hicks'.
Worth a viewing, however it is quite dated and sound quality was poor on the copy I watched.
