Dave Salmoni, zoologist and wildlife expert heads deep into the African bush on a double mission - to return to his wild roots and to save a rogue pride of lions from elimination. If he can't get the lions to calm down enough for visitors in the Erindi private game reserve to park up and take photographs, all the lions will be rounded up, put in a cage and killed for being too dangerous. Now, all his toughness, training and focus are put to the test. Can he survive six months in the Namibian bush on a life or death mission? Can he get close enough to gain the lions' trust so that man and beast can live together? Dave's challenge is clear - the only way to get into these lions' heads is by going on foot and heading straight into the pride. He lives in their habitat by himself, sleeping in a tent - while the camera crew has home comforts at night - trying to forge relationships with every lion, from Cleopatra the dominant lioness, Brutus, the alpha male to Rough and Tumble, the high spirited young cubs. Dave needs all his experience and knowledge as a big cat expert to become the first human they can trust and enable the two species to share the land they both depend on. - Actors:
