Synopsis:
The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates it's 75th anniversary with a concert featuring Julian Rachlin,Evgeny Kissin and Vadim Repin,recorded live in Hangar 11 at the harbor in Tel Aviv. Zubin Mehta conducts a programme including works by Saint-Saëns,Bach,Chopin,Chausson and Beethoven. Also included is János Darvas's documentary film 'A Coming Home',which plunders the archives to tell the history of the orchestra,and features interviews with such luminaries as Leonard Bernstein,Zubin Mehta,and Daniel Barenboim.
