"It Takes a Worried Man" hilariously charts the burgeoning midlife crisis of Philip Roath (Peter Tilbury) - a thirty-something insurance salesman whose confidence is diminishing as rapidly as his hair and teeth. In this second series, romance blossoms and tidiness prevails as Liz (Sue Holderness) arrives on the scene. But there's little change elsewhere; at the office, Roath's lethargy is causing pile-ups in the Claims Department, and he's still unable to give up his regular visits to therapist Simon (Nicholas Le Prevost) - principally because Simon is in a sorrier state than most of his clients. But, as Liz soon comes to realise, Roath is certainly adept at ensuring that his gloom rubs off on everyone else...
