Thames Television is often regarded as British TV as its best. Its comedy stars were the biggest names of the B] time that are still revered today. Mike Yarwood was Britain's top rated impressionist from the 1960's to the early 1980's. His shows were a mixture of comic sketches and guest musicians and regularly attracted more than 10 million viewers a show. His most well-known portrayals were the politician Dennis Healy, TV host Hughie Green and Eddie Waring, the impossible to understand BBC sports commentator and presenter of 'It's A Knockout'.
