Synopsis:
In November 2003, four men with differing lines of inquiry into 'soul connections and fractures' gathered at the Crossing Border Festival in The Hague, Netherlands, to perform on the same stage, without rehearsal - and indeed without having met before in most cases. This unlikely meeting happened at the invitation of Louis Behre, maverick organiser of Crossing Border, one of Europe's finest music and literature festivals. The men were: ex frontman of 70/80s art terrorists 'Doll By Doll' Jackie Leven; authors Ian Rankin and Ciaran Carson; and founder of iconoclastic American band 'Pere Ubu' David Thomas - with support from long-term Leven colleague, the redoubtable multi-instrumentalist Michael Cosgrave.
