As the ladies of West Country village Clatterford return for a final series of the gentle and sometimes poignant comedy, widow Sal Vine once again finds herself a beacon of sense amidst the ever-so-slightly eccentric local women's guild. The guild is agog at the rumours of a famous actor about to move into a renovated barn at the back of Sal's house. The excitement might have scuppered Sal's campaign to block the building application - but she's unrelenting in her battle with the builder, Jock. As life in the village carries on - Rosie flipping over her appearance on the catwalk in the Guild's Charity Fashion Show; Caroline hosting a dinner party for the very people she didn't want to invite and Kate seeking out an AWOL vicar on the moor - Sal's life is about to change: Tash and Spike's van is finally ready to take to the road and Eileen is about to welcome the famous new neighbour as a guest speaker at the Guild. So why is Sal looking younger, fitter and, perhaps, content?
