Janis Joplin (1943-1970) was the blues and whisky-soaked voice of the 'Flower Power' generation. Her musical breakthrough was at the 1967 Monterey Rock Festival but she died just three years later of a heroin overdose on October 4, 1970. This compilation captures her at the height of her powers, accompanied by Big Brother and the Holding Company and the Full Tilt Boogie Band.
