Screen favourite Nick Nolte stars in this impassioned epic of political upheaval and forbidden love! "Jefferson in Paris" recounts the scandalous private life of Thomas Jefferson, America's most famous statesman, during his term as ambassador in pre-revolutionary France. Very slow - Jefferson in Paris review by Maureen

Spoiler Alert

My wife and I thought this ought to be good. After the first ten minutes, when nothing interesting happened we gave up and found alternative entertainment. When we read it was a Merchant/Ivory production we expected something really first-class. Maybe there was more of appeal later but by then we were so bored it wasn't worth the effort. Perhaps they should have cut the first maybe twenty minutes and gone to the plot, if there is a plot.
