Founded in 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has established itself as one of the most prestigious annual music events in the world. The extraordinary list of artists who have played there is drawn from across the musical spectrum and from around the world. Jethro Tull made their only live appearance at Montreux so far in July 2003, although they have both lived and recorded there in the past. The band split the concert into two halves with a semi acoustic first section and a full on electric set after the interval.
