Jimmy Cliff... the last surviving icon of reggae music, has enjoyed an illustrious career in the 20th Century and into the 21st. Born in St. James, Jamaica, the young man who wanted to simply express himself through music and acting has gone on to influence and work with an eclectic mix of artists from Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Paul Simon, the Clash, Sublime, Lauryn Hill, Sarah McLaughlin and Queen Latifah. From decade to decade and over 20 original albums later, Jimmy Cliff a consummate showman with a passion for percussion, is still drawing capacity crowds of all ages wherever he performs throughout the world. Jimmy Cliff was a 14 year old country boy named James Chambers when legendary record producer Lesley Kong discovered him in 1962. Though his path to stardom started with a string of local hits in Jamaica and the top 10 British single, Wonderful World, beautiful People, it was Perry Henzell's classic 1973 cult film. The Harder They Come, they brought the sinewy, sensual rhythms of reggae to an international audience, featuring Cliff-penned classics like 'Sitting In Limbo', 'You Can Get It If You Really Want' and 'Many Rivers To Cross' and the rest if history. In this unique and candid film, 'Moving On', Jimmy Cliff returns to his roots where he was born and raised and performs a thought-provoking selection of his greatest hits in the streets where he started his amazing career.
