Featuring Richard Attenborough and a cameo appearance by Edward G. Robinson, this unique, feature-length documentary-drama film was written by Terence Rattigan, directed by John Boulting and produced by the RAF. It provides a vivid and gripping depiction of the selection and training process for RAF pilots and aircrew during the Second World War, and follows new recruits through the arduous procedure to their first mission - a night bombing raid on Berlin. The film stresses that - while not everyone can make the grade as a pilot - other roles such as navigator and gunner have an equally important part to play as a member of the team. A truly major project for the RAF Film Production Unit, 'Journey Together' is now widely recognised as one of the most important and accomplished aviation documentaries of the Second World War.
