When wide-eyed shipping clerk Fred Stevens (Tom Fitzsimmons) moves from upstate New York to Manhattan's Tin Pan Alley in the 1920's to become a songwriter, he doesn't count on sultry vixen Eileen (Susan Sarandon) setting her sights on him for her own purposes. Luckily, a composer who's hit a rough patch decides to take Fred under his wing. Kirk Browning and Burt Shevelove direct this satire of New York life in the Jazz Age.
