Synopsis:: Shekar (Shammi Kapoor) belongs to an aristocratic family who do not believe in fun and laughter. The only member of the family who dares to laugh is Mala (Shashikala) who is in love with Jeevan (Anoop Kumar). When her mother finds out about Mala's secret love, she asks Shekar to take Mala away to Kashmir, where he is to find himself a suitable wife. While in Kashmir, Shekar becomes stranded with a beautiful woman called Rajkumari (Sairu Banu) and decides to become a carefree man in love, much to his mother's disapproval.
