Martial arts instructors Luis Diaz and Joe Diaz present Kajukenbo, a martial art from Hawaii created in Honolulu by Master Sijo Emperado and four other martial arts masters. Kajukenbo's creators consider this martial art to be a "street fighting" stylization of MMA intended for self-defence, calling it "a realistic martial art [that is] efficient for real-life situations" and a style that is "explosive, fast, powerful and reactive." Luis Diaz and Joe Diaz are students of Master Angel Garcia, the official successor of Master Emperado, who died in 2009 at age 93.
