Hard-hitting made-for-TV movie following the gradual descent into underground politics and violence of a rich society girl outraged by injustice. Based loosely on the life of Diana Oughton, a member of radical organisation the Weather Underground, the film follows Katherine Alman (Sissy Spacek) as she gradually moves away from the influence of her wealthy father, Thornton (Art Carney), and towards the burgeoning political protest movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Outraged by societal injustice, Katherine and her boyfriend, Bob (Henry Winkler), are drawn towards violence as a means of protest, a choice wrought with danger.
