Madhur (Behl) left his native village 16 years ago after falling out with his father, village elder Omkar (Puri), over the inhumane tradition (or 'pratha') of honour killing. Now employed by the National Human Rights Commission, Madhur is assigned to lead an investigation into the suspicious deaths of two young people in his childhood village. Omkar, torn between his love for his son and his strong belief in the pratha, promises Madhur that he will do all he can to put an end to the practice. But tensions rise even higher when Madhur's own daughter, Ria (Yuvika Chaudhry), who has no idea that Omkar is her grandfather, elopes with handsome local boy Kush (Sarrtaj Gill).
