The Kid Stays in the Picture is a fascinating look at the life of Ex-Paramount Pictures executive and movie mogul Robert Evans. The story is very much a classic tale of the rise and fall variety, but what sets this apart from other biography documentaries is that Robert Evans himself is the narrator of his own story, which he presents in both an amusing and charismatic style. The story covers his life from his discovery at a Beverly Hills swimming pool and his meteoric rise to the top of Paramount studios becoming one of the most powerful players in the industry, to becoming a literal pariah of Hollywood society, and in his later years Hollywood's reacceptance of a man now considered to be an important part of its history. Overall, if you're a film fan this is an interesting and highly entertaining documentary of a man who has lived a colourful life and suffered his share of both exceptionally good and truly awful luck.
