When Joe Hunter's (Bettany) flatmate Scott surfs the net, he is offered a limited edition murder-based computer game. Amazed by it's realistic quality, Scott can't resist the sick challenge on offer and 'stalks' an imaginary victim against the backdrop of real video footage of Brighton. Perpetrating the flawless cyber-murder, he defeats the Killer Net, only to be offered the opportunity to play again, but this time with his own choice of victim. But soon, the game-play takes a horrifying twist when a real body is discovered at one of the game's disposal sites. Faced with a battle to convince the police of his innocence, both he and Joe are forced to delve deeper into the murky world of Killer Net, unearthing secrets and lies that one of the friends would best like forgotten.
