Someone who starrs and directs in the same film is a tough balancing act and it shows here with Taran Killam (who? yes I know I, I thought the same thing). Whilst the first 20 minutes seems seemingly clever in the plot and the way it was shot seemed refreshing, audiences will very quickly tire as it quickly runs out of steam and what made the audiences laugh at first is now becoming tedius and rather unfunny.
This film is like one of those flash in a pan ideas where at first seems like a good idea but upon reviewing realising there's simply not enough material to make a full movie out of but they carry on. This is one of those films. It falls flat and short in every way.
Audiences seeking salvation that Schwarzenegger will soon (later than sooner in this case) make an appearance with his straight-faced humour delivering killer one-liners will be sorely disappointed. We often read about actors who are only in films for paychecks and care little about what they signed up for. This seems like one of those films where the biggest star was hired purely to boost the films profile, yes we've all fallen for these one time or another.
From Schwarzenegger's standpoint I would it's something he squeezed inbetween schedules, saw free money and took it or had an agent which used voodoo on him. If you're a Arnold fan then I would suggest to avoid this and save tarnishing his image. This truly makes Terminator 3 and Terminator Genisys look like great movies. This is bubblegum for the eyes, literally has no value whatsoever.
