Live performance of Shakespeare's play recorded at the Globe Theatre in September 2017. Looking to live out his days without the burden of power, Lear (Kevin McNally) proposes to divide his vast kingdom amongst his three daughters. Allowing vanity to cloud his judgement, he challenges them to prove which one loves him the most, declaring that they will receive the largest share. A twisted conspiracy of greed and cruelty follows, leaving the once great dynasty in ruins and Lear banished to the wilderness, left to question the errors of his ways. The cast also includes Emily Bruni, Louisa Beadel and Saskia Reeves.
