One of the legendary works of the American musical theater, 'Lady in the Dark' premiered on Broadway in 1941. This stylish and engaging 1954 TV production, though trimmed to fit into a 90-minute time slot, is the most faithful of the various film and television adaptations. Starring Ann Sothern, the telecast was hailed by the New York Times as "real theatre". It had vitality, it had mood and it had illusion - all the way from start to finish.
