Synopsis:
Part one of a series of four walks around some of the loveliest and best-loved scenery in the British Isles. Your walking companion is former teacher and Lake District Osprey Project information officer Brian Nicholls. All the walks are circular, with each beginning and ending at a convenient and easily-located car park. While the walks are graded, none presents any major difficulties and they should all be accessible to walkers of all ages and experience. As well as spectacular fell-top views, forest tracks and shaded lakeside trails, the programme also offers a unique insight into the wildlife, history, geography, industrial archaeology and cultural heritage of this wonderful landscape.
