'Last Chance to See' documented the adventures of Stephen Fry and zoologist Mark Carwardine on a search for some of the most endangered species on earth. However, as they searched for the northern white rhino the animal was declared extinct in the wild. Here they follow a last ditch attempt to save the rhino from extinction by taking four of the last eight survivors from captivity and returning them to the plains of Africa. The film follows the fortunes of the four rhinos, but can zoo animals ever reacclimatize to the African bush? And can northern white rhinos be saved from extinction? This is a dramatic, engaging and at times emotional story following the last hope for one of the biggest and most spectacular of African animals.
