Synopsis:
When athletic teen Mari Collingwood (Sara Paxton) opts to hang out with her friend Paige in town rather than spend an evening in with her parents vacationing at the family's remote lake house, it marks the beginning of a night no one is going to forget. The two girls wind up in the company of escaped convict Krug (Garret Dillahunt) and his makeshift family of vile career criminals, who kidnap and brutally assault them before leaving them for dead.
Fleeing from the scene of their violent crime during a storm, the thugs inadvertently seek refuge with Mari's parents, anxious as to why their daughter hasn't come home yet and primed to unleash the full forces of hell on anyone who would dare to touch so much as a hair on her head.

Far better than I expected! - The Last House on the Left review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert

The name of the film and the cover didn't exactly appeal to me, but I read somewhere that this had a pretty good storyline to it - something I feel most horrors lack in, so rented it.

It turned out to be the best horror/thriller that I've seen in a long time. A good plot which the actors play well, you're on edge the whole way through and it is also fairly jumpy.

Not really for the faint-hearted as some parts are quite gory and very unpleasant.

a truely disturbing film (beginning of plot in this review) - The Last House on the Left review by CP Customer

i hadnt seen the first make of this so didnt really know what to expect from this film.

it starts off with a family who has gone back to a holiday home around a year after their son has died, the daughter goes to meet an old friend who works at a shop near by.

there they meet a young boy who invites them to his motel to buy some pot in exchange for a pack of smokes.

what the girls dont realise is the boys dad has escaped from the police with the help of his brother and girlfriend, and is as bad as they come.

some truely disturbing parts in this film and not for the skweemish!

some parts that parents of girls would not want to see (be warned!)

the acting is good and the plot is also good, if alittle slow at times in the first hour.

Horrific, brutal and thrilling. - The Last House on the Left review by CP Customer

I wasn't a fan of Wes Craven's original 1970 film, which was a cheesy low budget and often amateurish movie. And while I'm not a huge fan of remakes, Dennis Iliadis' film is undeniably one of the best horror films of recent years. The core story is taken from the original film and updated into a gory, brutal and thrilling film with a solid cast, great direction and a storyline which will pretty much have you hooked from start to end. This is a film which should be on the top of any horror fans rental list.
