From 1980 to 1990 Liverpool captured a staggering 16 major trophies. They won the League Cup 4 timeS in a row; were F. A Cup winners in 1986 (along with League title) & ’89, and twice Championships of Europe in ’81 and ’84. Their League domination would come to define domestic football in the 1980’s with a total of 7 First Division Championship titles. In this video presentation, 5 former red’s players discuss the relative merits of the players and staff who helped to shape the Liverpool sides of the Eighties. Highlights include footage from both European Cup Final Victories, and 5-nill League thrashings for both Nottingham Forest and arch rivals Everton; PLUS the not so great moments such as that knife-edge defeat by Arsenal to loose the 1989 League Championship. John Aldrigde, Barry Vennison, Mark Lawenson, Bruce Gobelaar; and Graeme Souness assess all of the key players of this era and ultimately name their 1980’s Team Of The Decade.
