- Synopsis:
- Charlie Congers (Charles Bronson), a plainclothes detective in Phoenix, Arizona, polices a city in the grip of narcotics, prostitution and organised crime but crime boss Joe Bomposa (Rod Steiger) seems immune from prosecution thanks to a shrewd attorney. When the girlfriend of Charlie's rookie colleague dies of a drug overdose, the young officer swears revenge on the criminals but Charlie insist that can only nail Bomposa and his syndicate by legal means. Discovering Bomposa's mistress Jackie (Jill Ireland) is able to testify against him Charlie sets out to extradite her from her Swiss mountain hideaway.
