Based on Brad Fraser's acclaimed play, the film centres on two roommates and ex-lovers. David is a cynical, gay actor turned waiter, and firmly believes there is no such thing as "love"; Candy is a lonely book reviewer desperately searching for love, even though deep down she loves David. At David's restaurant, a 17-year-old busboy, Kane, begins to hang around him, clearly interested, attracted to, and cautious of, his gay lifestyle. His two best friends are the womanising Bernie, who has a different woman each night, and Benita, a friendly S&M dominatrix who happens to be psychic. Meanwhile, Candy finds herself with two partners, one a bartender and the other Jerri, a lesbian. And to add to that, one of the seven might be a serial killer... Love and Human Remains is a comic and disturbing adaptation by the internationally renowned Denys Arcand, his first English language film.
