When Ian's mother (Jill Robertson Kibbey) dies, he is the loneliest in the world. At only 26 years of age, he decides to end it all in a snowy grove far into the forest. Instead, he finds a young school girl's lifeless body, with a suicide note clearly visible. Something awakened deep inside Ian (Robert de Hoog) and he decides to take the body home. Together with her, he feels at ease, and finally he believes he has found hope for love and a reason to want to live. But love will not last long when the body begins to decay, and he buries her under a beautiful cherry tree in the garden. His morbid method of finding the presence and love continues in the same way until the day he meets Naomi (Pollyanna McIntosh), a woman who recently lost her son in a violent car crash. Her sadness and hopelessness attracts Ian in a whole new way. Can she be Ian's key to a normal and happy life?
