- Synopsis:
- Based on a a semi-autobiographical novel by writer H.E. Bates this British drama series follows Lydia Aspen (Mel Martin), a shy but rich girl who lives on an estate just outside a factory town. She is encouraged by her aunts to experience life and grow up so under the guidance of Mr Richardson (Christopher Hancock) she begins to experience everything the real world has to offer and in some ways doesn’t have to offer in search of love and life experience.
