Synopsis:
Double bill of dramas from the early career of Belgian film-makers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. In 'Falsch' (1987) Joe Falsch (Bruno Cremer) reunites with 13 deceased members of his family in a Berlin airport, 40 years after leaving for New York. The sole survivor of a Jewish family, Joe is at first greeted with warmth and affection but the family are soon keen to discuss why he was the only one who fled Germany and why so many of them stayed behind and ignored the warnings of the Holocaust. 'Je Pense à Vous' (1992) follows the life of proud steelworker Fabrice (Robin Renucci) who is made redundant following the closure of his factory. Feeling confused and unable to cope, the 35-year-old is consoled by his wife Céline (Fabienne Babe) but her attempts prove futile and Fabrice soon disappears. When she eventually finds him, will she also be able to help him rediscover his purpose in life?
