Macario (1960)

This macabre fantasy based on a Mexican folktale follows impoverished Macario (Ignacio López Tarso), whose wife (Pina Pellicer) steals a turkey. As Macario is about to dig in, the spirit of Death turns up asking to share the peasant's fowl feast - in return for the power to cure illness. But there's a small catch: The grim reaper has the last word about whom Macario can heal. Will he renege on his Faustian bargain?
