Robert Mullan co-writes and directs this British biographical drama starring David Tennant and Michael Gambon. Set in the 1960s, the film follows world-renowned Scottish psychiatrist Ronald David Laing (Tennant) and his colleagues at Kingsley Hall community centre in East London, an experimental treatment facility where patients with schizophrenia and other mental health problems live alongside their carers. However, with his work beginning to consume him and his controversial views on mental illness and his opposition to prison-like asylums and anti-psychotic drugs challenging the medical establishment, it's not long before Laing finds himself facing some big decisions in both his private and professional life. The cast also includes Elisabeth Moss, Gabriel Byrne and David Bamber.
