- Magic City is an American period drama TV series that tells the story of Ike Evans (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his almost-Faustian deal with the mob leader Ben Diamond (played by Danny Huston), made in order to guarantee future prosperity for Ike's hotel Miramar Playa, the most luxurious property in 1959 Miami, Florida, not long ago after the Cuban Revolution.
