In this movie David Dhawan mirrors his thoughts through Salman Khan's character Sameer, who shrugs, 'Kyun, why, kaiko ka koi jawab nahi hota [All questions need not have an answer]'. So back he is, with another mad caper, which thoroughly tends to the laugh muscles. Characteristically, a Dhawan movie involves that either the hero cooks lies or is in disguise or he cons. In Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, everyone gets to contribute -- hero lies, heroine pretends and side hero cons. Comedy is all about spontaneous humour. The actors, as a team, share a comfortable can-I pull- your-leg chemistry. This ease shows in their performances. Salman's good-humoured disposition is charming. He, along with younger brother Sohail, is obviously having fun. Dr Samir's a flirt who loves to lie. Lovelorn Naina helps him thrive. Girlfriend Sonia keeps threatening to die. But Pyaare breaks windows and helps her survive. There's a slap happy mom who's quite a gal & Vicky is the doc's only loyal pal. Thapa on crutches will have you in stitches and two little kids are really bad. They insist the Doctor's their dad. What a mix. Who's to fix. Everybody's lying... Just enjoying... So much laughter, so much fun... After all. It's a film by David Dhawan.
