- Eccentric dowager Athene Seyler runs a ramshackle boarding house with her ex-con maid Billie Whitelaw and residents that include retired major Terry-Thomas and disgruntled etiquette teacher Hattie Jacques. Through a bizarre series of mishaps, the unlikely gang turn into modern day Robin Hoods, stealing fur coats for charity.
