- Synopsis:
- Gael García Bernal and Michelle Williams star as Leo and Ellen, a successful affluent New York couple who on the surface appear to have it all, a beautiful, bright daughter; great apartment; fulfilling careers and are still deeply in love. But behind this façade something more troubling is happening, Ellen is a devoted emergency surgeon but is beginning to question her priorities when her daughter chooses to spend more time with her Filipino nanny, Gloria. In turn Gloria is desperate to be reunited with her two sons back in the Phillipines. It will take a business trip to Thailand to make all the characters look at their own lives and their place in a global landscape.
