It was a scintillating season for Manchester City, a season that saw records tumble, one after the other, as City's centurions marched imperiously on to Premier League glory. The 2017/8 season also saw Pep Guardiola, the LMA and Premier League Manager of the Year, secure his first silverware for Manchester City with a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Arsenal at Wembley to win the Carabao Cup. Sergio Aguero, the scorer of the opening goal in the final, had earlier become Manchester City's highest-ever goal-scorer, eclipsing Eric Brook's 78-year record when scoring his 178th goal, against Napoli, in the UEFA Champion's League. It was an incredible year and the team were rightfully rewarded with a Champion's parade which saw thousands of City fans lining the streets of Manchester to herald their all-conquering heroes.
