- Highland Glen is a secured, gated community - the kind of place where father and ex-marshal Jack Coleman (Jimmy Smits) would feel safe spending the night in Los Angeles with his two kids. But soon, their peaceful world is shattered by a devastating earthquake and its deadly aftermath. Out for a night of "fun", a gang of cold-blooded killers starts a vicious rampage which leads directly to Highland Glen. There, cut off from outside aid because of the quake, Coleman finds himself pitted in a life-or-death struggle with the gang's ruthless leader (James LeGros) and forced to use his cunning and strength to keep all the murderous predators from assaulting his family and friends.
