- Mayday in a small town steeped in pagan traditions where the crowning of the May Queen is the highlight of the day - until suddenly she goes missing. Beneath the picture-postcard idyll lies a sinister 'otherworldliness' and the dark woods teem with myth. This is a town facing the reality that a terrible crime has been committed by somebody's husband, somebody's son. A father who hides a secret under the stairs; a visionary outcast lurking in the woods; a local policeman with something to hide; a businessman with a secret life and a faltering marriage. The killer is among them, one of them. Community is a myth. There is no one you can trust on Mayday.
