- Synopsis:
Mela is a story of Mohan (Dilip Kumar) and Manju (Nargis) who grew up together and fell in love with each other. Their parents being aware of their long relationship agree with their decision of marriage. To buy jewelry for his going to be wife, Mohan goes to another village where he gets robbed. Trying to save his jewelry he gets injured and taken to hospital. On the other side Manju waited for him. After waiting for many days Manju's father gets impatient and thinks that Mohan has cheated his daughter and him. In that circumstances he arranges Manju's wedding to and old person who had children. After recovery when Mohan returns, he gets shattered. Manju's husband dies after some time. And by now life has become difficult for both. Once when Manju went to meet Mohan, a storm drops Manju from the hill and she dies. Mohan gets blammed murdering Manju and taken to jail. - Actors:
