- When the Cowan family hires Anna, a Swedish nanny (Olivia d'Abo), to take care of their daughter, Christina (Elizabeth Moss), they do not realise that they are putting their daughter's life in danger. It isn't long before Kate (Marcy Walker) notices subtle changes in her household that further fuel her suspicions. Her daughter is becoming distant and her husband, Nick (Cotter Smith), more secretive as the nanny seems to be taking control of the entire household. Afraid harm will come to her family, Kate begs Nick to fire Anna. But Nick is convinced Kate is overreacting, so Kate alone must try to show Nick the influence that Anna has over them and try to put a stop to it once and for all.
