Miranda (1948)
Paul Martin (Griffith Jones) is a Harley Street doctor who announces to his wife (Googie Withers) that he intends to take a fishing holiday alone. He sets off for Cornwall and indulges in a spot of fishing until one day he catches a beautiful mermaid (Glynis Johns)! Meanwhile, his wife receives a telegram saying that her husband will be returning accompanied by a patient. Expecting an aging invalid, she is shocked on their arrival to see a beautiful young woman with her legs wrapped in cloth. Will anyone discover Miranda's fishy secret?
Mad About Men (1954)Caroline (Glynis Johns) is a prim and pretty schoolteacher who while on vacation meets Miranda (also Glynis Johns), a beautiful mermaid. Upon discovering that they look alike, Miranda decides she wants to spend some time ashore impersonating her new friend. All that is needed is a suitable excuse for Caroline to be confined to a wheelchair and a nurse.
