- Swansea Maritime Museum is the ideal setting for this International Marine Model Festival. The event attracted 5,000 visitors and had an amazing 1,500 models on display. We see the Matchstick Fleet, 300 scale model warships made out of matchsticks and matchboxes, the Mumbles Lifeboat and Station, and displays of model boat clubs from all over the country. Steam models, submarines, surface warships, scale sailing models, motor boats and 1 metre yacht racing all give a fascinating glimpse into the world of model boats.
