It's an untold story: The day U.S. Coast Guardsmen trained for domestic search and rescue in port protection were called for combat duty in Vietnam. Most military accounts of the Vietnam War emphasise the role of the Army, the Marine Corps, and the Air Force during the conflict with very little attention paid to operations to prevent coastal and river infiltration by Communist forces. Those Coast Guardsmen that fought in the war are practically forgotten, but their stories are recounted in this special documentary.
