Set in the 'Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre in Dorset, UK', 'Monkey Life: Series 2' is an emotional roller-coaster following the rescue and rehabilitation of some of the most abused and neglected monkeys in the world. Since the founding of 'Monkey World' by the late Jim Cronin, MBE in 1987, 'Monkey World' has rescued primates from 18 countries worldwide. Dr. Alison Cronin, MBE and her team continue Jim's legacy with unwavering dedication to stop the illegal smuggling of primates from the wild, rescuing and re-homing primates in need, whenever they can. In 'Monkey Life: Series 2', nerves are running high in the chimpanzee nursery as new boy Bryan meets the park's naughtiest resident, Seamus! Animal manager Jeremy travels to Paris to collect a baby orangutan called Lingga who will be joining the orangutan creche. And there is the patter of tiny feet in Paddy's chimpanzee group as Susie gives birth to Bart. Alison heads to Vietnam, where Monkey World is embarking on an exciting new project, its first foreign sanctuary for endangered primates. While back at the park orangutan Aris needs surgery as his knee injury is worse than expected and chimpanzee Jimmy has a very serious leg wound which prompts Jeremy to take a huge risk to help him. Alison says her goodbyes to Julio, the woolly monkey she hand-reared from birth as he is introduced into a woolly group. Alison and Jeremy travel to Chile to rescue 88 capuchin monkeys in the park's biggest and most challenging rescue ever! Filmed over the course of a year, this heart-warming primate docu-soap follows the day-to-day dramas and personalities of these, our closest relatives, and the people devoted to looking after them.
