Set in the Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre in Dorset, UK, 'Monkey Life: Series 6' is an emotional roller-coaster following the rescue and rehabilitation of some of the most abused and neglected monkeys in the world. Since the founding of Monkey World by the late Jim Cronin, MBE in 1987, Monkey World has rescued primates from 18 countries worldwide. Dr. Alison Cronin, MBE and her team continue Jim's legacy with unwavering dedication to stop the illegal smuggling of primates from the wild, rescuing and re-homing primates in need, whenever they can. In 'Monkey Life: Series 6', Animal Director Jeremy Keeling heads to Spain to pick up baby orang-utan Silvestre who has been neglected by his mum, and has an entertaining ferry back trying to put a nappy on. Woolly monkey Lena is pregnant, but who is the daddy? Chimpanzee Cathy goes under the knife, and the orang-utan nursery is re-opened after a refurbishment but how will they all react? Chimpanzee Kiki has settled into Hananya's group, but will she venture outside for the first time? In another family orang-utan group Hsiao-Lan gives birth, but refuses to look after her new-born. Siamang gibbon Sam meets new mate Sasak, and they quickly develop the perfect duet. The park welcomes capuchin Tau and patas monkey Mica from Slovenia. The team are in Vietnam, but it's a race against time to get to the gibbon release site, and will the gibbons take the leap to freedom?
