Set in the Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre in Dorset, UK, 'Monkey Life: Series 8' is an emotional roller-coaster following the rescue and rehabilitation of some of the most abused and neglected monkeys in the world. Since the founding of Monkey World by the late Jim Cronin, MBE in 1987, Monkey World has rescued primates from 24 countries worldwide. Dr Alison Cronin, MBE and her team continue Jim's legacy with unwavering dedication to stop the illegal smuggling of primates from the wild, rescuing and re-homing primates in need, whenever they can. In 'Monkey Life: Series 8', Alison Cronin and Jeremy Keeling are in for a surprise when they go to the rescue of two capuchins, only to discover they're actually marmosets in very poor health. Woolly monkey Bueno Junior meets his new family after being hand-reared by Alison, and there's a baby boom at the park when 4 more woolly monkeys are born. It's moving day for Gordon's orangutan group as they swap enclosures with Sally's chimpanzees in one of the park's biggest move to date! There's a new stump-tailed macaque after Jeremy and Alison bring back Floh from Munich, but will the 'ugly monkeys' take to their new arrival? At Hananya's house, chimpanzee Cherri gives birth to twins Louise and Thelma, but there's devastating news after Louise sadly passes away. A new species arrives at the park after Alison travels to the Maldives to rescue a slow loris confiscated by the authorities. Golden-cheeked gibbons Kim and Tien move in together, and are soon developing a beautiful duet. At Paddy's, chimpanzee Susie is taken to the hospital, and the team have a heartbreaking decision to make that will have a big impact on children Bart and Eddi. Over at the orangutan nursery the primate care staff have their hands full hand-rearing two baby orangutans who arrive from Berlin and Budapest Zoo.
